I started out as an ambitious young woman, eager to conquer the world. That drive carried me into business leadership — and eventually led me to walk away from a traditional career path to chase a dream job in aviation.
It helped that it involved sports. I’m a lifelong sports fan — a former fast-pitch softball pitcher who grew up around professional athletics. I still get emotionally invested in games that have nothing to do with me, and I love every minute of it.
Aviation took me back into the sky and across borders. I traveled, met a boy, and that leap carried me overseas into an international marriage, motherhood, dual citizenship, and a life I once believed would last forever.
Now I’m in my 40s, starting over — back in my childhood room with three incredible kids and a whole lot more perspective.
Life doesn’t always go as planned. But I’ve never been afraid to begin again.
